Testimonials

Gwen Schubert Grabb LMFT, CEDS-S

I had my first experience with Brandy and recovery coaching and found it extremely helpful. With a full practice, I don't have the time to do the meal sessions and provide
the support outside of sessions that is so often needed. Brandy filled that need and it
made all the difference.

She was able to have meals, supportive check-ins, and follow-ups and kept me in the loop. She has a warm, enthusiastic style that's easy to connect with, provides hope and she really knows her stuff. I look forward to working with her again!

When my daughter was diagnosed with an eating disorder, I knew we had to get a nutritionist and a therapist right away, and we did. We met Brandy about four months into treatment , and I regret not having met her at the very beginning of treatment because she has definitely been an instrumental part of our family’s recovery. She has helped me understand so much more than my daughter was able to put into words. My daughter absolutely looks forward to her sessions with Brandy, and she is always happier and more confident in her recovery process as soon as she finishes either an in-person exposure or an online session. Brandy is the best ! Highly recommend! I truly feel we wouldn’t be where we are today without her!

Brandy has been such an amazing asset in my recovery. She is willing to work with you on whatever you want and/or need. She can help you go clothes shopping, grocery shopping, eat meals/snacks together, clean out your closet , talk about whatever is going on in your life (food related or not), or do meaningful bookwork in The 8 Keys to Recovery from an Eating Disorder. One of my favorite things to do is exposures, which helps you gain real-world experience in a less stressful environment . I have always enjoyed our meals out together. Brandy makes eating in restaurants a much more calm experience. Eating in restaurants has always been a big fear of mine, but Brandy has helped ease that concern tremendously.

She is so kind, patient , easy to talk to, and so understanding. Our meetings are always very beneficial.
She offers real tools I can use and implement in my daily life supporting my recovery. One of the things I love most is how knowledgeable she is about eating disorder recovery and anti-diet culture. There is a lot to learn and unlearn about food and diet culture in recovery. I would not have gotten to where I am without Brandy!

When I first met with my therapist about treatment for my eating disorder, she suggested I also work with a “Recovery Coach.” I didn’t know what she meant , or that
such a thing existed ... and then I met Brandy. After 15 minutes of talking to Brandy, I knew she was going to be a key part of my treatment team. My only wish is that I found her sooner! In conjunction with psychotherapy and nutrition visits, coaching is a partnership that helped me work through the specific actions I personally needed to
take, uncovering ideas or thoughts that motivated me or got in the way of my recovery. My therapist gave me suggestions or guidelines, but i t was Brandy that helped me put the words into action. Brandy is positive, enthusiastic, supportive, trusting, focused, goal-oriented, knowledgeable, observant , respectful, patient and a clear communicator ... the list goes on!

Among the many things, Brandy taught me, perhaps the most important is that an eating disorder is hardly ever a straightforward process. Because an eating disorder is often a means of coping with or feeling in control of difficult emotions or situations, the idea of life without i t can be very frightening. You may feel conflicted about recovery. Brandy is there to remind you that there is always a way back to “normal,” a better normal without ED!!! You are worth the time and energy to recover. You are on your own journey and your own path, and no one can take that away from you! When my family and friends didn’t understand what I was going through, Brandy was always there supporting and routing for me – just a text message or weekly session away. I would not be where I am today if i t wasn’t for Brandy’s collaboration and input on my treatment team. Truly thankful and blessed to have found her!
